Summer 2004 saw the beginning of a new contemporary label that the Australian Fashion Industry had not seen before: Funkulo by Sam Elsom – a label that began by collaborating unique, organic textiles with contemporary design and vision. Now in its fifth season Elsom has matured and progressed into a successful fashion label that continues to challenge fashions expectations whilst still maintaining it’s cultural and fashion integrity.
The Collection emulates Sam’s philosophy of primarily using quality natural fabrics and textiles sourced from around the world, (earthy Egyptian cottons, smooth organic Italian silks, raw plaited leather, Morroccan bone beads) whilst secondly drawing inspiration from all cultural corners of the globe. | |
