the use of farmed rabbit fur...

The use of animal hide for clothing - especially fashion garments - is a contentious issue and results primarily from the inhumane treatment of wild animals for the purpose of human decoration.

Even today many such animals are caught in traps and suffer horrible agony for their hides. This is clearly a disgusting practice and should be actively campaigned against.

Many people - though not all - consider the use of farmed animal hide acceptable as such hide is a secondary product, with meat the primarily use. In Australia, beef and leather are the best example of this.

In many European countries, such as Denmark from where the majority of our stocked furs originate, rabbit meat forms a significant part of the typical diet and has done for centuries. As such, rabbits are farmed just like cows for their meat and their fur is subsequently used elsewhere.

Similar farms exist in Australia and the resultant hides are used for products such as blankets, gloves and hats (eg: Akubra).

Every rabbit fur garment you see offered for sale on this site comes from farms where animals are farmed primarily for their meat and do not suffer inhumane treatments.
